Narowal: The Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed has offered the Indian government to construct a railway line from Kartarpur to the Indian border, a news source reported. He was inspecting the newly-constructed railway station in Narowal.
Speaking to the media, he said that the construction of a railway track would facilitate the Sikh community. He also stated that a rail car service from Lahore to Narowal, via Sialkot, to Rawalpindi would be inaugurated soon.
He said that the government is making a lot of efforts to improve the railway journey for people travelling across Pakistan. Work is being done to bring the department out of its financial crisis as well.
On the occasion, the minister further announced the commencement of rehabilitation work on passenger trains and rail cars intended for the Lahore-Chawinda-Sialkot section route within six months. This measure is aimed at providing improved railway journey services to people.
