Multan: During a crackdown against illegal occupation of land owned by Pakistan Railways, the railways officials and Pakistan Railways Police retrieved 324 marlas of commercial land, reported a news source. The land was being occupied by commercial sellers of wood.
The land retrieved is located at Khanpur Railway Station and it was categories as commercial land. The value of land freed from encroacher is estimated to have a market value of PKR 810 million. On this particular piece of land, encroachers had setup temporary and permanent structure, which were demolished during the operation.
The operation is part of the ongoing drive to free land owned by Pakistan Railways across the country from illegal occupation and it is closely monitored by the railway authorities. Similar drives have been carried out in other cities, where land has been retrieved after decades of illegal occupation.
