Okara: During a grand operation launched against land mafia, Pakistan Railways administration has retrieved its land measuring 50 kanals from illegal occupation, reported a news source. The freed land is located between railway stations of Okara and Okara Cantt.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Pakistan Railways Divisional Executive Engineer Muhammad Ahmed Qureshi. The police force also assisted the Pakistan Railways team. Reportedly, the market worth of land retrieved from the encroachers is PKR 12 million.
The efforts of the team engaged for the operation were praised by Pakistan Railways Lahore divisional superintendent, who also affirmed that every inch of land that belongs to Pakistan Railways in Lahore Division will be freed from land mafia. Operations in this regard are being carried out in phases, while the illegal occupants of land are also facing legal charges.
