Quetta: The Balochistan government on Wednesday decided to build high-rise buildings and prepare new building codes for the province, according to media reports.

Federal Secretary for Housing and Works Dr Imran Zeb Khan met with Balochistan Chief Secretary Mathar Niaz Rana to discuss various issues including housing schemes. The officials in the meeting agreed that the building codes will be revised as a result of technology advancement. He also stated that it is time for high-rise buildings to be built in Quetta and the neighbouring areas.
Mr Khan remarked that the federal government will help Balochistan resolve its housing difficulties. He went on to explain that as part of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s agenda, the government has already started housing schemes in the province.

Chief Secretary Mathar Niaz Rana said that people have high expectations from the government. He also stated that Chief Minister Jam Kamal Alyani will use all available resources to ensure people’s well-being. In addition, he stated that a colony will be constructed for the fishermen, and federal government will provide assistance for the project.
