Quetta: The Balochistan government has proposed the formation of new districts and tehsils in the Quetta division to facilitate the growing population of the city, a news source reported. Chairing a meeting, Balochistan Chief Minister (CM) Jam Kamal Khan directed officials to set up a steering committee in this regard.

The CM said that a large population of the province had settled in urban areas due to a lack of facilities in rural areas. He added that this situation was causing a shortage of resources.
Quetta Commissioner briefed the meeting about the proposed new districts in the division. Furthermore, the CM directed the Revenue Board Members in attendance to form a committee to review this matter, and submit a report within 15 days.

The CM gave his approval for the formation of an additional two districts and two tehsils in Quetta division. He directed the commissioner to prepare a database in this regard. He added that the formation of new districts and tehsils would streamline administrative matters in the province.
