Lahore: The Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (PIEDMC) has announced to develop a 32-megawatt (MW) grid station at the Quaid-e-Azam Business Park (QABP) facility in Sheikhupura, a news source reported. As per the publication, the grid station is expected to cater to the primary needs of the industrial units which will be set up in the said park.

Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan is expected to perform the groundbreaking for the said initiative this month. The provincial government aims to promote industrial growth, attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), and increase the country’s GDP levels by setting up this park.

The project has already been supplied with 1.2-megawatt electric load and is ready to run industrial units. The authorities concerned recently restructured the design and layout of QABP to house an array of industrial sectors including the textile sector.

Moreover, the provincial executive is expected to spend PKR 25 billion on the development of infrastructure at the facility. Meanwhile, the construction of sewerage connections, roads, water supply connections, underground electricity, and common facility centre is under progress.
