Lahore: The Punjab government has conferred Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park (QAAP) with the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) status, a news source reported.

Provincial Minister for Industries, Commerce and Investment Mian Aslam Iqbal on Tuesday inaugurated a one-window service facility at QAAP for local and foreign investors.
At the inauguration event, the minister said that the industrial estate would create up to 600,000 jobs. He added that it would open up new vistas of professional development for young entrepreneurs.

He said that the provincial government was committed to facilitating both local and foreign investors. He added that utmost efforts were being made to develop the industrial areas across the province.
The minister further informed that QAAP would have its own power grid station, underground electrification, dedicated interchange, and other state-of-the-art public amenities.

Moreover, he assured the business community of the government’s full support for setting up new industrial units in the province.
