Lahore: Officials from Qatar are currently in talks with their Pakistani counterparts to open two additional Qatar Visa Centres (QVCs) in Lahore and Peshawar, a news source reported.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister (PM) on Overseas Pakistan & Human Resources Sayed Zulfi Bukhari stated that the QVCs would help boost employment opportunities, and reduce the cost and time spent on the migration process.

Bukhari met with prominent Qatari businesses and manpower agencies. He informed them that Pakistan was also playing its individual role in making the migration process more convenient. He added that things have already become much more efficient after the QVCs that had previously been opened in Karachi and Islamabad.

Director General for Pakistani Overseas Employment Affairs Department Kashif Ahmed said that such initiatives also help protect labour rights. He added that the QVCs in Lahore and Peshawar will help recruit workers for jobs in Qatar, especially for projects pertaining to the preparations for the Fifa World Cup 2020.
