Gujranwala: Government of Punjab has approved a summary moved by Gujranwala Waste Management Company (GWMC) to purchase 100 new cars, reported a news source. The approval is part of the provincial government’s plan to dispose waste. According to estimates, purchase of these 100 cars will cost PKR 450 million.

At the comment, GWMC lacks ample cars and machinery to properly remove waste. The city administration rents cars and machinery to move garbage outside city limits. The efforts appear ineffective, as timely waste disposal remains an issue.

GWMC now has a plan in place for waste disposal. The approval of the summary now allows for the purchase process to begin soon. The company will soon initiated the tendering process via print advertisement.
The GWMC is now hopeful that as soon as it receives more cars and the required machinery, it will dispose waste on a daily basis.
