Reportedly, to improve the infrastructure and prevent tree cutting, the project will be completed in two phases. During the current fiscal year, a 20-kilometre-long wall will be built in the first phase. In the next phase, the 18-kilometre-long wall will be completed. According to District Forest Officer Rana Shahid Tabassum, the wall will be 8 feet high with barbed wires to defend against incursion and illicit wood trading. It is worth noting that the Changa Manga forest was planted in 1866 by a British Forester across an area of 12,510 acres.
