Lahore: The Punjab government has sanctioned the release of 30% of the funds allocated for development projects in the provincial budget announcement for FY2019-20, a news source reported.

To facilitate this measure, the provincial government has issued directives for the release of funds to the revenue department.
Furthermore, it has asked the departments concerned to release 40% of the funds reserved for non-development schemes. As per reports, the executive will utilise this amount to pay salaries, pensions, utility bills, and miscellaneous expenses.

The revenue department has given a go-ahead to the Punjab Accountant General to release the required funds.
