Lahore: The Punjab Finance Minister Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht has stated that the social sector budget of Punjab will focus on health, education, clean drinking water and green Pakistan, a news source reported. He was speaking at a pre-budget seminar organised by Punjab Revenue Authority.
He stated that the Punjab government is also revisiting the health insurance scheme since only 40,000 of the two million insurance holders were using it even though full premium was paid by the government. He further said that without developing the trust of stakeholders, the government could not move forward on taxation as they were the backbone of tax policies.
