Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to monitor development projects in a phased manner in a bid to ensure transparency in their execution, a news source reported.

Chief Minister Usman Buzdar expressed his views on the matter during a meeting, which was held to review progress on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (PM) on Political Affairs Naeemul Haq, Punjab Finance Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht, and other officials concerned were all present at the occasion.
The chief minister said that the provincial government would implement an effective mechanism for monitoring development projects. He directed the departments concerned to ensure transparency in tendering process.

In response, Naeemul Haq said that the provincial government is committed to addressing public concerns on a priority basis. He added that Prime Minister Imran Khan is a strong advocate of transparency and merit.
