Lahore: Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan on Monday asked the Punjab government to enter into an economic cooperation agreement with the administrations of several big Chinese provinces, a news source reported.

He expressed his views on the matter during a dinner reception hosted by Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar. Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Punjab Assembly Speaker Pervaiz Elahi, Federal Minister Khusro Bakhtiar, and Punjab Information Minister Samsam Bukhari were all present at the occasion.
The governor stressed the need for creating employment opportunities for the youth, which (as per a recent survey) comprises a major bulk of the province’s population, in the fields of textile, agriculture, and technology.
He said that the multi-billion dollar economic corridor (CPEC) project had opened new vistas of socio-economic and scientific cooperation for both Pakistan and China.

In response, CM Buzdar said that his administration was taking important measures to develop and promote the industrial sectors; besides providing a number of facilities to the Chinese investors.
