Lahore: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Punjab recently shared a set of instructions for NGOs and philanthropists interested in supplying food and other essential items to the masses affected by the lockdown imposed to contain the COVID-19 spread, according to a news source.
As per the publication, the government has been maintaining a list of daily wagers and other deserving people adversely affected by the lockdown. Reportedly, philanthropists can also donate to the Chief Minister Punjab Fund for Coronavirus Control. Additionally, the publication has forwarded a requested for public donations as well, due to the large number of people who currently need access to food and medical supplies. Assisting these individuals in a timely manner is absolutely crucial. Donations can be submitted in the Bank of Punjab Account No. 6010204028500013 (branch code BOP-0008).
Those interested in distributing the food supplies themselves need to contact their respective deputy commissioner (DC).

The publication further lists some of the measures the PDMA has taken to help people during the crises. These include;
- A 24/7 control room to monitor the various measures being taken to contain the pandemic
- Spraying disinfectant throughout the province
- The transportation of COVID-19 patients to special quarantine centres
- Moving recovered patients back to their homes
- Providing food supplies to quarantined patients’ families
