Lahore: Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal has announced that Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar will launch the ‘Punjab Rozgar Scheme’ on October 1, according to a news report published on September 29.

He expressed his views on the matter during an address as the chief guest at the annual meeting of the All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association. He said that the facility would help boost business activity in the province.
After the launch of the Punjab Rozgar Scheme, businessmen will be able to get soft loans of up to PKR 10 million to invest in their operations. The provincial executive is also offering loans amounting to PKR 4,000,000 to PKR 5,000,000 for cottage industries’ restoration.

Furthermore, the minister revealed that 23 applications for the establishment of new cement plants in the province were currently under process; adding that the no-objection certificates for eight of the said production facilities will be issued within the next 15 days.
