Lahore: The Punjab government on Monday allowed the reopening of shopping malls, ride-hailing services, and public transport facilities across the province in a bid to facilitate citizens – a news source reported. Companies falling under the automobile industry have also been allowed to operate seven days a week.

Reportedly, a set of standard operating procedures (SOPs) governing the workings of these enterprises is soon to be presented before Chief Minister Usman Buzdar for approval. Under this framework, the province’s malls will have to ensure the use of thermal guns, hand sanitizers, and masks for safeguarding the health of customers, workers and shopkeepers.
A schedule of a resumption in domestic flight operations is also expected today; anticipated to commence partially before Eid at airports in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, and Peshawar with halved passenger capacities.

So far, more thant 150,000 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the province; accounting for 15,346 confirmed cases and 260 fatalities – according to the data from government’s COVID-19 website.
