Rawalpindi: The Punjab government has released PKR 200 million of the total PKR 400 million worth of funds required to provide round the clock potable water in the areas adjoining the Adiala Road, according to a news source published on November 6.

Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza revealed that these funds would ensure the provision of potable water for the residents of the Kehkashan Colony, Dhama Syedan, Munawar Colony, Bank Colony, Sanjoli Street, Hill View Lane, Sadiq Town, Jarahi and Janjua Town
The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) further completed the installations of four out of the required nine tube wells in Gorakhpur to ensure the provision of clean water to over 30,000 residents living in the surrounding areas of the Adiala Road.

WASA Deputy Director Malik Javed has revealed that the agency is also establishing two underground tanks at Shahpur. These underground tanks will have the capacity to provide 500,000 gallons of drinking water per day — with the height of OHR tanks expected to be around 70 ft.
