Rawalpindi: The Government of Punjab has rejected the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR)’s suggestion to abolish DC rate under the recently approved tax amnesty scheme, reported a news source. Calling it impractical, the GOP has formally approached the Federal Government through a letter. In addition to that, provincial administration and property registrars have also been instructed to follow the ordinance.
Reponding to the instructions, implementation of the ordinance has been stopped in all 36 districts of Punjab. The rural and urban property registrars in Rawalpindi are also told to register property according to DC rates.
The GOP is of the view that abolishing DC rate will cause legal complications, erupt family disputes, and create more troubles instead of easing the process.
