Rawalpindi: The Punjab government has approved PKR 1 billion for the commencement of development work in seven tehsils of Rawalpindi district to improve public sector infrastructure, news sources reported.

The provincial assembly approved the funds to improve the city’s roads, water, and healthcare infrastructure in the coming 100 days. Following the approval of funds, the local government is expected to float tenders for the approved schemes in the third week of November, followed by the commencement of work in December. As per the details released by the assembly, the following amounts have been approved:
- PKR 250 million have been approved for Rawalpindi tehsil
- PKR 330 million for Gujjar Khan tehsil
- PKR 120 million for Murree tehsil PKR 100 million for Kahuta and Kallar Syedan tehsil each
- PKR 70 million for Kotli Sattian tehsil
- PKR 90 million for Taxila tehsil

According to the documents, the funds will be utilised to construct projects dedicated to improvements in water supply, sewage, and drainage system and the school’s surrounding walls, streets, and roads.
