Lahore: The Punjab police has announced that it will be launching model roads in all major cities of the province to help improve the flow of traffic – a news source reported. Traffic police teams will also deliver lectures to raise awareness about the rules of the road in schools and colleges.
Punjab Police has drafted this new strategy in order to resolve the issue of traffic jams and accidents taking place on the roads due to increasing traffic.

Police will develop model roads under this project. Awareness campaigns will also be conducted, while traffic signals, signboards and flexes will be placed on visible places on the roads.
All chief traffic officers have been directed to take strict action against underage drivers and people doing wheelies. The authorities also plan to launch a campaign with the assistance of schools and colleges, under which citizens will be designated “traffic perfects”.

Police officials also plan on streamlining the flow of traffic, removing encroachments and quickly acting against illegal parking. Rickshaws and motorcycles will be restricted in high traffic areas.
