Lahore: The Punjab government has begun finalising its annual development programme (ADP) of PKR 434 billion for the next financial year, a news source reported.
The provincial government has also convened a session of the Punjab Assembly to seek opinions and suggestions of its members before finalising the ADP. The provincial finance minister is expected to hint at the main features of the expected development budget while concluding the pre-budget debate in the assembly.
In October last year, the government had presented a nine-month budget for the province. The budget had an ADP of just PKR 238 billion due to the shortage of funds.
The final figure for the next year’s ADP, however, will heavily depend on federal receivables. These include shares from the federal divisible pool and grants that constitute 75 to 80% of the provincial budget.
