Lahore: The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) claimed that the Punjab government collected over PKR 100 billion in taxes and fees through its e-payment platform, news sources reported on August 2. The revenue was generated through the online payment of 24 taxes/levies for 11 different departments.

As per the reports, PITB’s E-pay platform collected PKR 13.6 billion in token tax, PKR 63 billion in sales tax on services, PKR 4.5 billion in traffic challan, PKR 9.5 billion in traffic challan & property tax, and PKR 1.71 billion in route permits.
According to a press release from the PITB, the board has connected several government offices through its app to make online payment simple and convenient, as consumers of government services may now pay their fees and dues online using various banking channels.

The PITB app creates a 14-digit online transaction ID for payment identification and tracking. It was also reported that the board recently added the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) as its 24th and most recent customer.
