Lahore: The Government of Punjab on Sunday operationalised nine e-khidmet centres to promote the construction activity in the province – as per the vision of Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, a news source reported. The e-khidmet centres have been established in 9 divisional headquarters of the province.

The government has launched the e-khidmet centres as a part of its e-governance initiative to promote construction activity and improve the ease of doing business in the country. The project was launched on July 1 and already 7 projects have been approved under it – including 2 in Multan, 2 in Sahiwal, and 1 each in Lahore, Bahawalpur and Gujranwala.

As part of the initiative, layouts for private, commercial and industrial properties, completion certificates, No-objection certificates (NOCs), and approvals for private housing schemes is to be provided within strict and short timelines.
- Layout for individual residential/commercial/warehouse/industrial construction has to be approved within 30 days
- Completion certificate has to be provided within 30 days
- Land-use conversion application has to be approved within 45 days
- Private housing schemes have to be approved within 60 to 75 days
