Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar has constituted a committee in an effort to form new districts and tehsils in the province, according to news sources. As per details, Provincial Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Basharat Raja will head the said body.
To this effect, Buzdar said that authorities concerned had finalised recommendations with national and provincial assembly members hailing from eight divisions of the province. Previously, these members had apprised the provincial government regarding the problems in their respective constituencies.

Moreover, detailed exchanges about development schemes in connection with the Annual Development Programmes also took place, he added.
The CM further reiterated the vision of the provincial executive to improve education and health facilities in remote areas of Punjab. For installing water filtration plants in these areas, the Aab-e-Pak Authority has reserved PKR 8 billion. Similarly, repair and construction of roads in rural areas will take place under the ‘Naya Pakistan Manzlein Asaan Programme’.

Moreover, a policy to grant ownership rights to the residents of Katch Abadies has also been formulated. In addition, stern action will be taken against land mafias possessing state land.
