Lahore: The Punjab government has issued a notification underlining the 26 additional sectors and industries allowed to resume their business operations from today (May 18) onwards, according to a news source. In order for these businesses to operate in safe manner, the Punjab Ministry for Industries and Trade has also issued revised anti-COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs).

The decision is taken in accordance to the federal government’s decision on easing the lockdown throughout the country – which was imposed on February 26 – to limit the local transmission on COVID-19. As per the notification, business operations in following industries/sectors have been given the green light to resume operations:
- Dairy projects preparation plants
- Rice mills
- Power looms
- Food industry
- Poultry feed mills
- Flour mills
- Livestock sector
- Factories producing masks and gloves
- Storage units
- Packing units
- Printing press
- Production units of soap, sanitizers and tissue papers
- Oil and gas production companies
- Fertilizer companies
- Goods’ transportation companies
- Manufacturers of tractor, thresher and harvester machines
- Businesses associated to production, dealership and sale of seeds, fertilisers, and animal feed
- Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) Outlets
- Mobile phone manufacturers
- Businesses related to cement, sand, rebar and bricks
- Auto industry
