Lahore: South Punjab Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Capt (rtd.) Saqib Zafar directed administrative secretaries to launch an e-registration system for property registry in the region to ensure transparency in the process, a news source reported on April 27.

During a meeting, the ACS ordered the relevant authorities to take measures for improving good governance and service delivery. With the introduction of the e-registration system, public complaints about fraud and corruption will be addressed. The e-registration system will be linked with an e-stamp, land record management system, and, National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA).

The ACS also stated that with the introduction of this system, there will be no possibility of tax evasion and loss of property documents. He went on to say that it will help streamline the real estate business. The revenue staff will get training for all possible steps and use the experience obtained from the ongoing e-registration pilot project in Sahiwal Division.
