Lahore: Punjab government has invited proposals for fair compensation to the people affected by Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project – a news source reported on November 19. The decision was announced in a meeting with the representatives of the affectees who have agreed to be a part of the deliberation process.

According to details, the various stakeholders held a meeting to discuss the matters relating to a fair compensation for the affectees’ land on the directions of Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA) Chairman Rashid Aziz. The meeting was attended by RUDA Representative S M Imran and other senior officials as well as the representatives of the affectees.

The affectees were assured that all of their reasonable demands will be met and they were asked to submit written suggestions about how they can be compensated fairly for their land within two days. The officials also assured the representatives that it is not a major issue and that it will be resolved through deliberation.
