Lahore: Punjab Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Hafiz Mumtaz Ahmed on Thursday announced the provincial government’s decision to waive off property and professional taxes for the real estate and business community for the next three months, according to news sources.

To this effect, the properties and businesses have been exempted from paying property/ professional taxes from April to June.
The minister said that this relief measure has been offered by the government in a bid to facilitate public and businesses amid the coronavirus outbreak in the country. The ongoing lockdown and economic charges will be hard for the people, which is why no taxes will be charged for three months.

He further stated that this relief attempt will cost PKR 3,300 million to the provincial exchequer; however, all such measures are aimed at providing relief to the masses during these testing times.
