Lahore: The Government of Punjab has decided to monitor 106 cooperative housing societies in Lahore, according to a news source. The decision has been taken to curb discrepancies found in real estate dealings carried out for these projects.
According to details, the provincial government has set up a dedicated Project Management Unit (PMU) for this purpose with a cost of PKR 113 million. In order to deal with the property scams reported in these cooperative housing societies, the PMU mechanism has been computerised.
With PMU in place, the developer will no longer be allowed to change the society’s masterplan. According to the news report, the system will start its operations in June.
