Gujranwala: The Government of Punjab has decided to install water filtration plants at canals and rivers, reported a news source. The decision has been taken to remove shortage of drinking water in the district.
The filtration plants will be installed at various canals in the districts after issuance of the related NOCs. Water and Sanitation Authority Gujranwala and Irrigation Department will issue the NOCs. The decision is widely praised by the public.
Additionally, the government has also decided to launch a campaign against water wasting. Reportedly, the underground water level in the city is dropping at an alarming rate. The campaign will help save the underground water resources.
The planned campaign will be launched after consulting with the departments concerned. Reportedly, the government is looking to get all departments on board to make this campaign successful.
