Lahore: The government of Punjab has decided to establish a Centre of Excellence in Johar Town, a news source reported. The centre will have the status of a university.
Officials of Grade 17 and higher will be trained at the centre.
The plans for the construction of the centre of excellence has been prepared by the municipal department. The sources within the municipal department detailed the project. A high-rise building will be constructed in Johar Town which will serve as the Centre of Excellence. Not only will it serve as a university, but it will also be able to award degrees.
The building will be completed at a cost of PKR 1.5 billion. This will be the first municipal university of Pakistan – it will be state of the art project and will have modern research facilities.
