Lahore: The Punjab government on Monday notified that it was making preparations for a soft launch of the Quaid-e-Azam Business Park, a news source reported. According to details revealed, Minster for Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal is leading the said initiative and the Punjab Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (PIEDMC) is overseeing the project’s development.

During a recent high-level meeting, PIEDMC Chairman Nabeel Hashmi shared the business plan for the Quaid-e-Azam Business Park. Sources have also revealed that had it not been for the pandemic, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan would have inaugurated the project in March. Now, the provincial government is committed to kick starting the business activity in Punjab with the project being part of that initiative.

On the other hand, the Punjab government also plans to develop a state-of-the-art IT Park in Lahore. The said project would improve the competitiveness of the service industry. It would also help take the advantage of the exchange rate depreciation leading to greater exports of IT products and services.
