Faisalabad: Provincial Minister for Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal has announced that the government is looking to gradually reopen businesses with strict implementation of the necessary precautions; in order to check the prevailing situation of unemployment in the province, a news source reported.

While speaking to a delegation of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI), he said that the government has announced the relief packages worth nearly PKR 1.2 trillion to shore up the economy and assist the organisations in retaining their employees. He revealed that the government will soon review the circumstance and gradually allow businesses to become operational again.

In a related news, the government has also allowed 260 industrial units in Sialkot to restart operations, however the owners are strongly advised to ensure all the precautionary measures recommended by the government are followed to the letter. The local government has also formed nearly 50 monitoring teams to ensure compliance.
