Lahore: The Government of Punjab has decided to launch a crackdown against unapproved and illegal housing schemes, according to a news source. In this regard, the provincial government has given the orders and related instructions to the local government administrators.

The administrator will carry out the operation against these fake and unapproved housing schemes. The Punjab Local Government Operations department has also issued a written order. As per the instructions share in this notice, the administrators are to start the verification of documents presented by developers of private housing schemes.

This scrutiny will help the provincial government find out which of these housing schemes have followed the standard mechanisms set by the concerned development authorities. Furthermore, document verification will also help determine the housing projects that have receive approvals on merit.

Once the process of document verification completes, the provincial government will launch the crackdown. These developers will also be barred from carrying out onsite development work and selling properties to public. The prime motive of this operation is to help save the public from being scammed by fraudulent real estate developers.
According to official sources from the local government, the city administrator will be held responsible if a fake housing scheme is found operating in his jurisdiction.
