Lahore: The Punjab government on Sunday notified new operating hours for businesses amid the ongoing coronavirus situation in the province, a news source reported. To this effect, Secretary Primary & Secondary Health Care Punjab Captain (retired) Muhammad Usman issued a new notification in line with the recommendations of the provincial cabinet.

Under the amended business timings, bakeries and dairy shops would remain open for 24 hours all week long. The notification adds that poultry and meat shops would remain open from 9 am to 7 pm throughout the week. All dairy shops, bakeries, and other businesses are to comply with the SOPs issued, the notification said. Secretary Usman stated that the notification would remain in effect until further orders.

Earlier, the Punjab government had allowed businesses to resume operations until 7 pm subject to certain conditions. The markets and shopping malls in the province resumed on Monday after a two-day closure, but would now follow the timings indicated in the new notification issued.
