Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar on Monday inaugurated 20 Revenue Mobile Land Record Service vehicles, a Satellite Land Record Centre and, 115 land record centres in Lahore, according to news sources.
The CM was informed that the registry system had been computerized in 100 tehsils and land record services will be provided at the Mouza level in 32 ‘Kanoongoi’ via the newly introduced Satellite Land Record Centre.

Moreover, the revenue officials informed the CM that the land transfer system was being extended in the entire province through an automated system. It was highlighted that Mobile Land Record Service vehicles will provide property-related documents (fard, transfers, mutation) to the owners concerned at their doorsteps.
Furthermore, the meeting was told that overseas Land Record Centres had been established in Pakistani embassies in the United States, United Kingdom and United Arab Emirates to facilitate expatriates. In response, CM Buzdar observed that ‘the dream of digital Punjab has been materialized by the government’.
This mobile service and other facilities introduced in the land record department will rid the public of hassle-filled and time-consuming procedures involving patwaris and land record centres.

With this new development, the provincial residents will be offered land record services at their doorstep. To this effect, the Mobile Land Record Service vans have been prepared and are ready for operation. One of these vans will work dedicatedly for the Rawalpindi district.
Reportedly, the vans providing these services are equipped with the latest digital technology including a Wifi service to facilitate the services. In the initial phase, the service will operate in major provincial districts and then extended to all 36 districts. In the third phase, the facility will be extended to the tehsils in Punjab. Each tehsil will be allocated two Mobile Land Record Service vans. This service is aimed at resolving complaints regarding land transfers and mutation issues in the region.
