Lahore: The Government of Punjab has announced its decision to introduce an app for registration of tenants in the province, a news source reported on January 15.

As per the going practice (which the provincial executive intends to eliminate), the landlord or tenant concerned are required to visit the nearest police station for the registration process.

The new utility will allow users to register both domestic workers and tenants through simple steps. According to the Punjab Police, the app contains the data of 1.5 as many as million proclaimed offenders. It will dispatch SMS alerts to the authorities concerned in case it detects any new entrant associated with criminal activities. Moreover, the app will allow the police to monitor the activities of domestic workers who frequently change their jobs.
