Lahore: The Government of Punjab has issued notices of tax exemptions for almost 40 sectors for a period of 3 months, a news source reported. These sectors include construction, hotels, motels, wedding halls, catering and hospitals.

According to details, the government took the decision as a part of its efforts to facilitate businesses during the novel coronavirus pandemic. The tax exemption will be effective throughout the lockdown period.
Meanwhile, the services registered with the Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) will have tax-exemption for sales tax on services between April 1 and June 30.
The services to have the exemptions include construction services, hotels, doctors, private hospitals, beauty salons, gyms, and embroidery services. The government has also suspended the Punjab Infrastructure Development Cess for this period.

Speaking on the matter, Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) Chairman Dr Raheel Siddiqui said that coronavirus is going to strictly affect the businesses because of the lockdown, so these measures have been introduced to facilitate public.
