Lahore: The Punjab government has formed a committee under the leadership of Provincial Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Social Welfare Raja Basharat to conduct a detailed audit of state land – according to news sources.
Basharat said that the body would submit a detailed report on all issues to Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar within a month’s time frame. He revealed that this committee would also focus on housing schemes operating in the province and conduct a special audit to identify fake societies. He added that appropriate legal course will be followed for dealing with such entities.

The provincial revenue minister will act as the deputy convener and the Colonies member would act as both committee member and secretary. A senior member of the Board of Revenue, Director General Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA) and Secretary Law will also be members of this committee.

As per reports, this committee will collect information on residential, commercial, agricultural, leased, allotted, encroached upon and un-utilised land in all provincial districts. It will also gather details on the annual income and arrears record of these properties.
