Lahore: The Punjab government on Sunday stated that it would focus on the social sector under its budgetary allocation for the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2020-21, a news source reported. To this effect, it has decided to cut down all unnecessary expenditures.

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar chaired a meeting for reviewing arrangements for preparation of ADP 2020-21. He revealed that during the upcoming ADP, the provincial government would focus on the health department and social sector, while curtailing unnecessary expenditures at every level.
The CM stated that the Punjab government’s aim was to focus on the welfare of the common person. He added that they were striving for not burdening the society’s weak segments despite facing adverse financial situations.

CM Buzdar claimed that the ADP 2020-21 would be based on factual statistics, austerity and saving policies, and ensure financial discipline. During another meeting with the Provincial Advisor for Economic Affairs and Planning Dr Salman Shah, the CM highlighted that the upcoming ADP would focus on progress of each city in the province.
