Lahore: The Punjab government has announced its decision to digitise records available with all patwar khanas in the province, a news source reported on February 16. In the first phase of the digitisation process roznamcha waqiati, gardawari, and lal kitab records will be digitised.

According to details, the government aims to prevent illicit changes to the records by digitising the data available with the said establishments. The process of digitisation is also expected to bring increased transparency to the documentation process.

The tasks of digitisation is expected to be completed by the beginning of next month (March). The provincial executive intends to digitize:
Roznamcha Waqiati: This contains the daily tasks and operations of the patwar khana
Gardawari: Contains details of where the crops are located and how each specific piece of land in an area is being used forLal Kitab: Contains inventory of farm animals and other agricultural items owned by residents of the area concerned
