Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to close recreational and tourist spots across the province, a news source reported. As per the publication, these measures are part of the efforts for coronavirus prevention.

According to the details revealed, the provincial government has banned the entry of tourists and other visitors into the recreational avenues, including Murree and nearby localities. Similarly, public access to government offices is also limited – only necessary staff would attend the offices, with others working remotely.

The Punjab government has also set up a control room in the Punjab Health Department to cope with the novel coronavirus situation. Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar states that the government had initiated precautionary steps on January 3. He said that the government constituted a cabinet committee – National Security Committee – which holds regular meetings in a bid to curb the spread of the virus, adding that their decisions are executed across the province.

Buzdar also announced to establish a special find of PKR 5 billion in order to deal with the novel cornoavirus situation in the province.
