Rawalpindi: Following the Punjab government’s directives to expedite the development work on the Nullah Leh Expressway project, the city administration announced its decision to award the design and feasibility report preparation contract to a consultancy firm within a week, according to news sources.

Rawalpindi Division Commissioner Captain (r) Saqib Zafar revealed that the department was very close to awarding the project contract; adding that it had opened the bids previously submitted by several firms. He said that six bids were submitted for the project and were opened in the first week of September for evaluation.
He expressed the hope to award the contract to a firm within a week of this announcement and said that this project would be developed on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) construction model.

The commissioner said that the development work would initiate from Soan Bridge to facilitate the maximum number of commuters. He said that the government wanted to permanently resolve the flooding issue in Nullah Leh.
