Lahore: The Punjab government has provided its approval to the establishment of a multipurpose business center at the Quaid-e-Azam Business Park in Sheikhupura, a news source reported on March 11. The said facility will encompass 300,000 square feet. It will be managed by the Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (PIEDMC).

PIEDMC Chairman Syed Nabil Hashmi expressed his views on the matter during a meeting with a delegation of industrialists. PIEDMC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ali Moazzam Syed and other officials concerned were also present on the occasion.
The said business center will feature ‘corporate offices, conference rooms, expo centers, multipurpose halls, showrooms, hotels, one window center, and factory outlets’. Further, the PIEDMC will provide special incentives to IT companies for setting up their ventures at the business center.
Mr Hashmi said that the Quaid-e-Azam Business Park is spread over an area of 1,536 acres, adding that it comprises plot cuts ranging between 0.5 and 4 acres. He stated that ‘more than 200 acres of plots have been sold in a short span of time while dozens of applications are in the process of approval’.

Commenting on the provision of utilities, the PIEDMC said that the officials concerned have finalised an agreement with both SNGPL and NHA to supply RLNG and develop and an interchange on the motorway respectively. He further stated that the management has approved incentives and concessions for industrialists interested in buying a25 acres or more land in the park and that half a million people will be avail to employment opportunities following the park’s completion.
