Previously, the industries department had expressed its concern with regard to the non-availability of land; stating that this issue was causing problems in allocating space to new industrialists within the private sector. Further, it had proposed the provincial executive to draft a new policy for this purpose – saying that it was a significant requirement for boosting the industrial sector and creating new job opportunities.
In response, the provincial government has now allowed the department to create a new policy for acquiring land for establishing industrial estates in Punjab.
