Rawalpindi: The Punjab Government has approved around 410 development schemes for Rawalpindi in the upcoming fiscal year, including six major projects, a news source reported. Among these mega projects, the provincial government has included the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) and the Leh Expressway, as expected.

Other projects include the construction of two new recreational sites in Kotli Satyan, two universities in Gujjar Khan and Murree, a 100-bed hospital in Kahuta, and a new district jail.
These projects are estimated to cost a sum of PKR 130 billion. Punjab Parliamentary Secretary Adnan Chaudhry stated that the Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar was quite committed to developing Rawalpindi. He also revealed that the provincial government will construct the mini dams of Papan and Daducha within the Rawalpindi Division.
He added that the CM has approved the release of funds for the Chann dam, which will be responsible for water supply to the suburban areas of the city.

Chaudhry also stated that the authorities concerned will lay the foundations for the RRR and Leh Expressway within the next two months, and that next year will prove to be progressive for the city.
