Lahore: The Punjab government on Sunday, through a provincial home department notification, placed a temporary two-month ban on tenant evictions in cases of delays in rent payments, a news source reported.

According to details, Additional Home Secretary Momin Agha has issued the notification under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The ban has been placed to provide relief to the tenants unable to pay their rents due to the prevailing circumstances caused by the novel coronavirus pandemic. It is also expected to help curb the spread of the virus, in addition to cushioning the economic impact of the pandemic.

The notification was issued last week and will remain applicable for a period of two months – during which no tenant may be evicted due to the non-payment of rent. At the expiry of the period, the ban will be automatically lifted.
After this period , Kya 2 months ka rent Dena hai?
