Lahore: The Punjab government has announced a 47% increase in its domestic revenue collection efforts (as compared to figures recorded during FY2018-19), accrued during the first month of FY2019-20 – according to news sources.
As per officials, the departments concerned collected tax and non-tax payments (during the first month of FY2019-20) which amounted to PKR 22.9 billion. Previously, the corresponding figures from the last year had amounted to PKR 15.5 billion.

A spokesperson for the Punjab finance ministry said that Provincial Minister Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht had appreciated the performance and efforts of the local taxation authorities with regard to their revenue collection pursuits.

Moreover, the executive had recently announced the launch of an Android application, titled ‘E-pay’, to facilitate both public and private organizations, as well individuals, in their tax payment efforts. This application can be downloaded through Google’s Play Store service.
