Lahore: The Government of Punjab has relaxed the lockdown restrictions for the industries and construction sectorby allowing it to operate 24/7 – under the strict adherence of the government-sanctioned standard operating procedures (SOPs), according to a news source published today (August 6).

The revised working hours are to become effective immediately. The official notification in this regard states that the provincial Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD) made amendments in its order, in compliance with the decisions of Cabinet Committee to combat coronavirus threat, in the meeting held on August 4. However, all other prior restrictions and exemptions shall continue to remain in force.

Earlier, the provincial government had announced that it shall provide easy loans of a total worth of PKR 20 billion to facilitate new and old businesses – adversely affected by the coronavirus pandemic and the lockdown imposed to curb its spread. These loans will range from PKR 0.5 million to PKR 5 million among the beneficiaries.
